SOOTHING GEL CREAM REVIEW

Nothing gets me more excited than a new gel cream, except for maybe a new product with green tea as a main ingredient! When COSRX came out with their new green tea gel cream, I knew I had to give it a try. Check out this article for more on why green tea as a skincare ingredient can be effective.

COSRX claims this particular gel cream was formulated to cool and soothe the skin as well as provide extra hydration. Key ingredients are:

• Vitamin B5 (D-panthenol) which is to help hydrate the skin, and provide anti-inflammatory benefits.
• Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (aka Green Tea) to calm and hydrate the skin.
• Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract to help cool and soothe.
• Allantoin to soothe as well as moisturize.

In the tub, the cream is a mostly translucent light green color that leans more towards the gel side of gel cream. It did not have an overly detectable scent. The texture is light, and feels cool upon applying it to the skin. It doesn’t, however, have a cooling sensation that you may find from a peppermint or menthol product. The product dries down to be slightly tacky, but not overly so. I feel that it was able to serve as a final moisturizing step, but it does not provide a ton of hydration. Alone, the gel cream is not enough – hydrating layers underneath helped provide more moisture.

Overall, I like it! I don’t think it’ll become a year-round staple, just due to how light it is. This is perfect for oily skinned people looking for a very light final layer in their routine, or those who live in humid climates that don’t want a heavy moisturizer.
