Love the mist but the bottle sucks!

I'm pretty sure my bottle was defective because everyone else seems to love this. When I press the "pump" thingy there's no mist coming out, just a giant squirt of product landing on my face creating a huge mess. But once I change the bottle it's alright since the actual product is really good and hydrating!
