does not brighten nor reduce breakouts on acne prone areas, but definitely improved the other areas in terms of smoothness. this product is amazing, and it comes with a small spoon so you do not contaminate the product in the tub by using your hands if dirty. it smells good, and all you need is a small teaspoon(?) to apply it on your entire face. gives you a dewy look in the morning.
