This is probably the only clay mask I've tried that doesn't dry my skin out like crazy. It actually hydrates a bit, which is very nice. That makes it very comfortable to use/wear but still gives a clean feeling after it has been washed off. It makes my skin very soft as well.
It is, like any other clay mask, a bit tricky to wash off - personally I need a wet cloth or towel to get it all off (without having to rinse my face 30 times), or have to wash my face while in the shower. Just something to keep in mind! I do think it is effective on minor to medium "troubled" skin, if you suffer from a lot of acne you might need something stronger. But this is still good enough for me to notice a positive difference, and I only use if about once a week/every 10 days.
The one thing I don't like is the tingly feeling from when the mask foams up, it's a very itchy feeling that is hard to ignore. But it only lasts a couple of minutes and doesn't bother me when it foams up the second time, after you've rubbed it in again after it foams upp the first time. (You apply, let it foam and sit for 10 minutes, then pat down and rub again, and let it sit for a couple of more minutes then rinse. I've noticed that if you add a little water for "the pat down and second rub" it won't foam up agan!)
