I used this mask in past years just as a regular mask & it worked really well for me. However recently I learned of a new way to use the mask through the /r/asianbeauty subreddit: first you use BHA, then a clay mask, then a cleansing balm. Actually, this is the mask that the creator of this method fiftyshadesofsnail uses in her blog post, so I was glad I already had purchased this from Jolse to try the method! Anyway, this "grits" method REALLY cleans your pores well & maximizes the power of this mask, so I recommend giving it a try if you buy this mask (which you should because it's very good).

If you are interested in cleaning out your pores, this is a good mask! It really draws out the oils in your pores. I strongly recommend you search "fiftyshadesofsnail shrink pores" or "fiftyshadesofsnail grits routine" to learn about how you can use other products to maximize the effectiveness of this mask though (but on its own it is also a GREAT product).
