The texture is like those cheap soda flavored lip balms you get for kids.  There is no taste or smell (which isn't a bad thing).  It is also grainy in texture...I made sure to scrub the crap out of my lips before applying so I know it wasn't that.  And it doesn't feel particularly moisturizing, I've gotten silkier lips from drugstore american brands.
