It does not smell of strong artificial fragrance, it has more of a chemically smell. I don't have horrible acne but pimples pop up now and then, this cleanser didn't really do much to reduce them. It leaves a squeaky clean feeling and I'm not a fan of that, as it feels too harsh and as if moisture is being sucked out of my skin. It also has a pH of 9.5, which isn't good for skin.
