First off, this is not going to replace beauty blenders or brushes in my makeup routine. That being said, I do find myself reaching for this when I'm out and about. It's a bit difficult to work with initially, but once you get the hang out of it you'll see that it does fill the gaps that the beauty blender leaves - hygiene, longevity, cost-effectiveness. The best thing about silicone (it's actually polyurethane but let's roll with silicone) is that you can just wipe it off, spray it down with isopropyl alcohol, and you're good to go. There's no germs festering inside it (I know the beauty blender has a special anti-microbal material, but I just have to toss it eventually), it's not going to get stained, and you can use it for years if you treat it right. The look and feel of it is exactly the same as the original Silisponge, just the shape is a little bit different (looking at the video reviews, I actually prefer the teardrop shape of this, it's better for getting into the undereye area and the corners of the nose), and it comes in a little protective pouch. I use it as follows: Spread the foundation with my fingers until it's everywhere I want it to be, then I go over it with the puff and tap and buff it until it looks perfect. I think the best texture to use this with is stick foundation, liquids are harder to get streak-free. I like that it doesn't eat any of the product, as sponges and brushes do.
