After washing my face, my face looks slightly shiny (it looks oily though, not dewy). So I use this product after I've applied everything to keep it matte. You can reapply throughout the day to keep it that way. Only problem I found is that the puff it came with began breaking after using it a bit (perhaps I rubbed it too hard on the product). I recommend using something else to apply the product, also because cleanliness. I'm going to be trying out the mineral powder version instead to compare.
