I've tried the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask before, but I definitely prefer the Rice Mask since it's much more gentle and it doesn't contain any rough particles.
However, if you're looking for more of a physical exfoliator (aka a scrub), then the Black Sugar Mask works better. If you're looking for more of a "Wash Off" mask with a "pick me up" kind of product, then the Rice Mask is good.
The texture surprised me at first, since it was slightly mushy has a "wet' texture.
I do notice my skin being brighter, but only lasts within the initial wash (and not the whole day).
