I was already a fan of the Nok Yong mask pack but wanted to try out some of the other History of Whoo masks. Since they are generally quite expense this turned out to be an excellent way to sample the Gongjinhyang UI: Gold Peel Off Mask and the Soo Hydrating Overnight Mask to work out if they would agree with my skin and if the full sizes would be worth buying.

As I said, I think that the Nok Yong mask pack is great. It's a thick massage mask that warms up on application/massage and does a great job of boosting hydration to skin. That said, it is excellent when you are lacking in hydration but the effect is definitely less pronounced when your skin is already reasonably hydrated.

The Gold Peel Off Mask was fun to use (reminded me of some of the old peel off masks I used to have from Shiseido and Kose) but didn't really seem to do much. If you want to exfoliate or give your skin a deep clean, you're better off using AHAs or BHAs (depending on what you are trying to achieve) or clay masks.

The Soo Hydrating Overnight Mask was a surprise to me. I wasn't really expecting much from it but I really enjoyed using it - it dried down to a dewy finish (so you could probably use it during the day as well) and helped to seal in everything else I had applied. In terms of effect, the next day I had happy, even, hydrated skin. I didn't get the kind of glow that I would normally get after using the Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask but it was definitely more comfortable to sleep with since it did dry down (which the Sulwhasoo masks don't do on me).
