This is a good hydrating toner, I wouldn't call it an essence. The packaging is heavy and it feels luxurious, it's a frosted glass container. It feels great to put on and it hydrates my skin well, especially after 2 or 3 layers. It doesn't smell like anything (which I like) and it has the same consistency of water. I'm not sure if it brightens my skin or not (time will tell), but it's a joy to put on and I like the hydrating effect. Price is a little up there but I would repurchase.
