It is gentle enough on oily combination , acne prone skin. It dries out pimples effectively. I used this along the snail mucin essence and saw my redness disappeared and my skin became more elasctic.  

In terms of lightening, I did not see immediate lightening benefits on scars after 3 days of using A-sol and this snail essence, compared to Missha essence toner and serum combo.
