I have never used a balm before but I really like using this one. My make-up melts off the face really quickly and effectively with this product. I think this is the best make-up removal product I've used so far. Some people may find its grapefruit smell too strong but for me personally it's perfect, I don't think it's strong and I like it. Also it is so convenient that the balm goes with the little spoon to take a proper amount of the product without putting your hands inside. It really makes its usage easier.
