This product is great! It definitely is brightening. Upon first application there is a SIGNIFICANT white cast but this seems to dissipate after a few minutes. It might not work for someone with a darker complexion though, I am caucasian and somewhat fair skinned so your mileage may vary. This product is super hydrating and love the brightening effect I get. It does seem to have a faint alcohol type smell but I can't quite place my finger on it.
