This is a good first treatment essence (FTE). It absorbs well and helps the absorption of products I apply after it. It does not seem to break me out. While I have gotten a more noticeable brightening effect with other (more expensive) FTE, this one also imparts a subtle brightness to the skin.  For the price, I think this is a good FTE and would recommend it to others.
