The finish of the cushion is velvet to matte. I would advise that you at least exfoliate your skin to get the best out of the finish. The cushion lasts pretty long on my skin with just one or two layers of product--about 6 to 7 hours. The cushion has a fresh, flowery, citrus scent that is not overpowering, but you will definitely smell it on your face for a while (goes away soon after). I got shade number 21, which is on the brighter, yellow side. It is a nice shade, though keep in mind that it is a brighter shade of 21 (in my opinion). I really like this product, and this was my first refill after purchasing the cushion itself. I tend to reach out to this product a lot, and perhaps you will too!
