I was left feeling disappointed when I pulled this off my face the first time. I know that I have some blackheads because I can clearly see them in the mirror, but this mask did not remove them. It is not painful, no more "painful" than pulling off a pore strip. This product is so-so. I will use the rest of the tube but not sure if I will purchase again. I use this only on my nose and chin.
