After an extraction I put one one on and the next day the open hole had closed up smoothly and saved me from getting an acne scar. I also put one over a close pimple that was noticeably red, and the next day the redness had gone and I think it helped it come to a head a lot sooner, so these definitely work. Though you can still see them on the skin when you wear them, they are see through and aren't too prominent.
