I haven't actually been outside in the sun to see if this protects from the sun very well, I have only used it for daily use and I think it is pretty good. it leaves a slight white cast but I'm absolutely okay with it because that probably means it is made out of physical blockers which I prefer. It is not drying and it is not oily. It is easy to apply and comes in a convenient container. I actually used this on my cheek before and it was fine but i kept wanting to scratch it of and when i scratched it did come off.
