To be honest, I bought this initially just because of its unique pen like packaging but loved the item after using it. The finish seem to be velvety matte. Also, it doesn't makes my lip look dry which is what I want from lips products. When I first wanted to use it, the product didn't come out of the cushion even after clicking the button several times and so, I thought it was a defective item. However, only after clicking it numerous times, did the product finally came out. The cushion on the tip makes it easier to apply on lips. Overall, a good lip product for an affordable price.
