I was looking for a lightweight natural-type of gel
moisturizer to use on my body, as what I had used previously (Benton’s Aloe BHA
toner) ran out and I wanted to try something different. Tony Moly’s Eco Bamboo
Water Gel with its really high content of bamboo water sounded good… so I
thought, why not try this.
I like that the main ingredient of this product is bamboo
water, but it doesn’t really live up to my expectations. I’ve used this on my
legs and arms as a summertime prep-moisturizer before I put on my body cream.
However, I find that it doesn’t absorb into my skin very well, and seems to
leave a sort of film or barrier over my skin that doesn’t feel so pleasant… the
sensation to me feels kind of like very thin plastic wrap? And, that barrier
sort of interferes with my heavier body cream, so the cream doesn’t absorb
properly. It also didn’t really help with my skin’s hydration levels, and it
didn’t help to make my skin any softer or smoother.
As a gel, it is refreshing, and the scent is nice and light
and the packaging is adorable (as always with Tony Moly). However, I have to
say that this product doesn’t impress me much. I’ve shared this with my mom and
she seems to like it, but then again, my mom’s skin isn’t as finicky as mine
and she’s easily impressed with all the Korean products I share with her. Sigh.
I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this again >__<;
