I would say this is more like a serum, not really a cream that's meant to be used by itself. I usually apply a light layer of this (it absorbs very quickly, not greasy, sticky, or heavy) then apply another moisturizer (I live in dry weather, especially since winter is coming now). I have not tried this when it's more humid out, I think in humidity, this would be fine by itself. The product is very moisturizing and makes my skin soft, dewy, supple--all those great things! I don't believe there's any brightening effect (I'm ok with that). Don't expect the effects overnight. I've used this for weeks now at least once a day (after I cleanse).
